Aug. 25—BEMIDJI — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will hold an informational meeting regarding proposed new rules for 2025 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Beltrami Electric Cooperative, 4111 Technology Drive NW.
The new rules will regulate the handling, management, processing and disposal of construction and demolition debris, a release said.
“These rule changes could have significant impacts for solid waste operations, including in Beltrami County and northern Minnesota,” the release said. “A recently commissioned study found that these rule changes could result in a substantial additional cost for construction and debris disposal.”
All interested parties including contractors, haulers, elected officials and the public are invited to attend this meeting.
Additional meetings are scheduled from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the following locations: Aug. 27 at the Brainerd MPCA Office, Aug. 28 at the Becker County Courthouse in Detroit Lakes, and Sept. 5 at the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet.
