PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Strong high pressure building over the West will bring record hot temperatures to Arizona this week and into the weekend. The average high for this time of year in Phoenix is in the upper 90s, but we’ll top out near 107 degrees instead.

As high pressure strengthens and moves closer to Arizona, temperatures climb to 110 degrees tomorrow through Sunday, which is not just record territory for each day, but will also mark the latest Phoenix has ever seen 110 degrees. The hottest days are expected to be Friday through the weekend, when we could even climb to 111 degrees.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in place for the Valley from Wednesday through Sunday. All five days will be First Alert Weather Days.

Dry air is also in place and expected to remain in place, which means no rain chances for at least the next seven days. This June-like weather could continue into next week. We’ll keep you posted.
