AMHERST – On Homecoming Weekend, the UMass football team narrowly defeated FCS opponent Central Connecticut State, 35-31, on Saturday for the Minutemen’s first win of the season.
A Brandon Campbell rushing touchdown and a clutch defensive stop ensured the victory over the Blue Devils at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. The Minutemen (1-3) trailed CCSU early in the fourth quarter.
