A trio of advisors with about $1 billion in managed client assets is ditching their LPL affiliation to join Raymond James via the firm’s independent channel.
Utah-based Jaden Gurney, Trevor Hanson, and Jonathan Rogers moved from Zions Bank and LPL to Raymond James Financial Services, one of several advisor/team moves announced Monday.
The advisors have offices throughout Utah, in Salt Lake City, Richfield and St. George. They work with business owners, near-retirees and clients who’ve already retired.
Financial Consultant Katie King and client services managers Jesica Mangum and Elisa Meacham will also make the trip to Raymond James. According to Hanson, advanced tech and services were “big draws” for the team, while Gurney said the move allowed them to enhance “relationships and take a more well-rounded approach” to help clients.
According to SEC records, Gurney spent 12 years in the industry, starting in 2013, with Transamerica before joining LPL in 2015. Hanson is a United States Air Force veteran who worked as an aircraft mechanic. He joined Key Bank in 2006 after a brief stint at Wells Fargo and has been affiliated with LPL since 2015.
According to SEC records, Rogers has more than 13 years of experience. He became an advisor in 2014 and briefly joined Fidelity before linking up with LPL.
In 2015, LPL acquired Zions Bank’s wealth management program, which held about $57 billion in total assets and had more than 450 offices across the West and Southwest (including Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington and Oregon).

Client Service Associate Braxton Ransaw will join Lopes in the move. He’ll report to Market Leader Kim Bonanni, who reports to Northeast Regional Director Rick Penafiel. Lopes first joined Bernstein in 2014, according to SEC records.
Wealthspire Acquires ‘Lifestyle Services’ Firm
Wealthspire Advisors, a New York City-based registered investment advisory firm owned by global insurance brokerage NFP, unveiled its acquisition of Judith Heft & Associates on Monday.
Wealthspire CEO Mike LaMena said the acquisition was part of a broader effort to expand the firm “beyond traditional wealth management.”
“Wealthspire is committed to providing holistic and personalized services to our clients across the wealth spectrum,” LaMena said. “Judy and her team of professionals will go beyond bill pay services to streamline clients’ lifestyle needs.”
According to a Wealthspire spokesperson, Judith Heft & Associates isn’t an RIA or “typical” service provider and doesn’t directly manage client assets. Instead, they perform “high-touch and lifestyle” services, helping families develop and maintain spending plans, bill pay and financial reporting.
They also help clients with executive assistance, professional organization, travel services, vendor negotiations and general oversight, according to a Wealthspire spokesperson.
Wealthspire’s 110 advisors manage $27.4 billion in asset across 23 offices throughout the United States.
