University of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders may be many things, but humble is not one of them. The Heisman hopeful reminded us of that on Saturday after making Colorado State’s players and staff pay for their trash talk prior to the game.
Following a chippy tilt between instate rivals, which nearly imploded for the second-straight year, things took a more unsportsmanlike turn when Sanders rejected Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi’s attempt at postgame dap once the Rams lost, 28-9, on Saturday.
“Wonderful game,” Colorado’s Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders told reporters during the postgame presser. “Personal game. Heartfelt game. Emotional game. They kinda make it like that. The disrespect was uncalled for during the week. We knew coming into the game it would be a bit personal. I just pray that our kids would never act in that matter cause y’all would have a field day with it.”
Apparently, Fowler-Nicolosi was one of the more vocal trash-talkers, leading Sanders to pour salt in his wound after the senior thoroughly dispatched of his counterpart on the road.
After being drubbed by the man and team he and his teammates had allegedly mocked all week, Fowler-Nicolosi couldn’t tame his foe’s bravado once the dust settled.
“You that same (inaudible) talking s—t on Instagram. We handled our business. You cant f—k with me,” Sanders told Fowler-Nicolosi at the 36:35 mark of a video, courtesy of “Well Off Media,” after taunting Colorado State fans and making the Rams’ QB whiff as he reached for Sanders’ hand.
“Keep talking,” Fowler-Nicolosi replied faintly as he limped gingerly to the locker room to lick his wounds.
