SOUTH BEND — Fresh off a 66-7 drubbing of in-state rival Purdue, Notre Dame football moved up one spot to No. 18 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll released Sunday afternoon.
The Irish, who dropped 12 spots after a Week 2 upset loss at home against Northern Illinois, entertain another Mid-American Conference foe this Saturday when Miami (Ohio) (0-2) visits Notre Dame Stadium.
Two future Notre Dame opponents and one previous victim hit the board in the coaches’ Top 25 this week.

USC dropped a spot to No. 12 and Louisville moved up a spot to No. 20. Texas A&M, which fell 23-13 to Notre Dame in the season opener, moved back into the coaches’ rankings at No. 24 after a road win at Florida.
In the Associated Press poll of media members, Notre Dame (2-1) moved up one spot as well to No. 17. The Irish had climbed as high as No. 5 before falling at home to Northern Illinois, now ranked 23rd in the AP poll after moving up two spots this week.
Texas A&M is 25th in the AP poll, while USC is 11th and Louisville is No. 19.
The College Football Playoff selection committee won’t release its first rankings until Nov. 5.
