Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is safe following gunshots near his golf course in Florida, his campaign and U.S. Secret Service announced on Sunday. The incident appears to be the second assassination in two month attempt against the former president’s life and a suspect is in custody.
The man in custody is Ryan Wesley Routh, according to three media outlets, citing multiple unidentified law enforcement sources who said Routh pointed a rifle with a scope into Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf club.
Louisiana officials have taken to social media to react to the incident.
