PARIS, Ky. (FOX 56) — From Paris, France, to Paris, Kentucky, 21 photographers brought a piece of the 2024 Olympics back to the Bluegrass.
“What makes this very unique is that if you went anywhere else in the world today or tomorrow or next week, you will never see these pictures in a gallery, in a show, on a wall,” says Jack Gruber, Photographer with USA Today.

It’s called the Paris Photo Gallery and Gruber is a co-owner. Exhibit organizers said the photos show how the simple click of a camera captured significant moments in Olympics history.

“I know those moments are really just outstanding to capture when you do finally get it, but you have to be in the right place at the right time and know what you’re doing,” says Shaena Neal who attended the gallery.
If you go to the gallery and love a photo enough, you can buy it. There’s also an online auction for people who can’t make it to the gallery to bid on their favorite photos. Those prints will be signed by the photographer
Proceeds from photos sold will go toward Boyd’s Station.
“Boyd’s station is a nonprofit in Harrison County, Kentucky that I helped found. And over the last 8 or 9 years, we’ve been bringing student journalists to this region of Kentucky and providing them the means to document this one county, Harrison County,” says Gruber.
Thousands of pictures are taken during Olympic events, but Gruber says it’s amazing how each one can be unique.
“What really strikes me is that there is such a collection of images that are so different from the 2, 3 or 4 of our photographer friends who are all standing next to each other, taking the same moment. But there’s 3 or 4 different versions of the exact same moment. And that’s what’s really unique, really amazing,” says Gruber.
LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:
Exhibit organizers said the Paris Photo Gallery will have the images on display through Nov. 23. As the owner of the Touching Ground Gallery in Georgetown, Neal said she sees the value in localizing a global event.
She said, “I think having these really renowned galleries and showing just exquisite artwork in small towns, it’s just a really valuable service to the community.”
