Before more than 100,000 Vols fans pile into the Neyland Stadium on Saturdays, even more will be tailgating near The Strip and all around campus.
Vols fans go big every game day! The blocks near the stadium are covered in orange and white as fans chow down on burgers and barbecue, chug beer and blast music. It’s hard not to join in on the fun.
Here’s your guide to making the most of tailgating ahead of a Tennessee football game, including where to go and what to do.
Where do you tailgate for Tennessee Vols football?Circle Park: The official Tennessee football tailgate experience is at Circle Park at the intersection of Peyton Manning Pass and Volunteer Boulevard. Circle Park transforms into a game day block party lined with tents filled with TVs, food, drinks and whole lot of fun.G10 Parking Garage: Tons of Vols fans tailgate at the garage between Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center. Stop by ahead of the game to join the party, or head to the top floor to take in the sea of orange and white on game day. You need a parking pass, which have all been claimed for 2024.Lot 9: This tailgating spot is close to Neyland, making it a perfect transition from tailgating to game time if you’re short on time or just don’t want a long walk.Volunteer Village: Vol Village is full of family-friendly activities on game day, including food trucks, music and fan interactions. It is free to all fans with or without a game ticket, so you can take in the tailgating atmosphere without setting up your own tent. Vol Village is located across from Circle Park. You’ll also see tailgaters all along The Strip on Cumberland Avenue and in the Fort Sanders neighborhood. On game day, it’s an endless stream of food, drinks, games and, of course, “Rocky Top” on repeat.Sailgate with the Vol Navy
Why only tailgate when you can “sailgate”? A tradition that’s unique to Tennessee is the Vol Navy, with Vols fans docking their boats along the Tennessee River for a floating “sailgate,” instead of a traditional truck and car tailgate on paved streets. It’s always a fan-favorite on game days. If you have a boat or know someone who does, joining the Vol Navy is an unforgettable way to experience game day in the shadow of Neyland.
Truly’s Tailgate Experience
Located outside Gate 9, fans can stop by Truly’s Tailgate (opening time changes for each game). The tailgate typically has yard games, TVs streaming games around the country, food trucks, and drinks, including Truly Hard Seltzer and other Truly beverages, and it’s free for fans with tickets. Truly’s Tailgate closes at the end of the third quarter.
Tailgate Tennessee is the ultimate tailgating experience at UT. It combines convenience, comfort and entertainment for fans by creating a premium, organized tailgate on game days.
Located in Circle Park, Tailgate Tennessee is the official full-service tailgate park of Tennessee football and offers several tailgate packages. The premium packages include all the necessities for a fun day. Catering options include items from Calhoun’s, Dead End BBQ, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken and other vendors.
