Team USA opened up an early 3-1 lead in the Friday morning foursomes at the 2024 Solheim Cup.
The biennial Solheim Cup pits the 12 best female European players against the best dozen from the United States.
Suzann Pettersen’s Europe are duking it out against Stacy Lewis’s USA at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia.
USA started the week heavy favourites, and they are now even shorter to win their first Solheim Cup since 2017 following a fast start.

World No.1 Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz got the first red point on the board in the Friday morning foursomes with a 3&2 victory over Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit.
Rose Zhang and Lauren Coughlin then added a second point for the Americans with another 3&2 win over Celine Boutier and Albane Valenzuela.
Emily Pedersen and Maja Stark got the first blue point of the week on the board with a 2up victory over Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho.
But the stars and stripes won the all-important final match courtesy of Lilia Vu and Sarah Schmelzel defeating Linn Grant and Carlota Ciganda by another scoreline of 3&2.
Team Europe are the current holders of the Cup after an absorbing 14-14 tie the last time the contest was held in Spain.
They have retained the trophy since the 2021 Cup at Inverness Club, Ohio, where they emerged 15-13 winners.
Europe are looking to do something no other team has ever done before in the 35-year history of the Solheim Cup this week by winning it four consecutive times.
