AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains announced the 2024 Women of Distinction Award honorees.
This year’s honorees are:
Rising Star – Aurora Anacker, Ambassador, Troop 5754Outstanding Community Partner – Shi Lee’s Barbecue & Soul Food CafeMan Enough to Be a Girl Scout – Jason Crespin, Managing Artistic Director, Amarillo Little TheatreLifetime Achievement – Cynthia Walton, RN, WHNP-BC, Girl Scout Alum and Lifetime MemberWoman of Distinction – Liz M. Rascon-Alaniz, Ed.D., Executive Director, Heal the City
The Women of Distinction Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens.
The luncheon brings together and recognizes a group of purpose-driven leaders in business, government, education, and philanthropy, who are dedicated to service and leadership.
“We are excited to honor leaders who represent so many groups from the Amarillo community who believe in the power of girls,” said Becky Burton, Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains CEO. “The committee selected amazing women and men who our Girl Scouts can aspire to be like as they learn to give back to their communities in a positive way.”
