ORONO, Maine (WABI) – Unified Special Hockey of Maine is hosting its Witches Brew event at Bowdoin College from Oct. 18-20.
It’s a fun weekend filled with adaptive hockey games featuring Boston Bruins and Maine Mariners alumni.
The goal is to promote awareness in diversity and inclusion in hockey and adaptive skating.
“We’re doing Skate with the Mariners in the morning and Skate with the Bruins in the afternoon. It will be a lot of fun to do it,” said Kristian Joliat, Maine Highlander.
“It’s a really, really big deal for us to be able to have the opportunity to bring all of these programs together in the same place on the same weekend. (It’s great) to have the Mariners and Bruins alumni standing beside us for this weekend to show our athletes that they belong in hockey,” said Sarah Joliat, Maine Highlanders coach.
You can find more information by visiting Unified Special Hockey of Maine’s Facebook page.
$10 tickets are available through Eventbrite to cheer on the athletes and benefit the program.
