LAWRENCE — Kansas football will have the opportunity to bounce back Friday at home against UNLV, in a game that’ll be played at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Jayhawks (1-1) faltered this past weekend on the road against Illinois. It’s why head coach Lance Leipold’s squad is no longer ranked in the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll. But while that was a tough loss for the program to experience, it’s not something that has to define the season.
Kansas still has the chance to compete for a Big 12 Conference championship. Beating UNLV (2-0) to wrap up the Jayhawks’ non-conference slate would allow them to build up some momentum before their first Big 12 game of the 2024 campaign. It’s just a matter of responding well to the defeat against Illinois.
