After falling down 10-3 to in-state foe Northern Arizona midway through the second quarter, No. 20-ranked Arizona rallied to score 19 unanswered points to pull out the 22-10 win.
Quarterback Noah Fifita connected with wide receiver Jeremiah Patterson on a 17-yard touchdown to retake the lead after trailing at halftime.
The Wildcats added a safety at the start of the fourth quarter after NAU running back Darvon Hubbard was tackled in the end zone to go ahead 15-10. Running back Kedrick Reescano’s 56-yard touchdown run effectively with 9:32 left in the fourth quarter ended the game.
Some trickery first put NAU ahead as wide receiver Isaiah Eastman connected with fellow wide receiver Xander Werner for a 25-yard touchdown with 10:24 left in the second quarter. Marcus Lye added a 38-yard field goal to make it 10-3 at the 6:20 mark.
