Kansas football coach Lance Leipold previews KU’s Illinois road game
Check out what Kansas football head coach Lance Leipold had to say Monday ahead of the Jayhawks’ game Saturday on the road against Illinois.
CHAMPAIGN, Illinois — Kansas football’s 2024 regular season continues Saturday with a non-conference game on the road against Illinois.
The Jayhawks topped Lindenwood last week to open the season 1-0. The Fighting Illini are also 1-0, after a season-opening win against Eastern Illinois. The two sides met last year in Lawrence, where KU captured a 34-23 victory.
Kansas will be the favorite, considering it’s entering the matchup as the No. 20-ranked team in the nation. Illinois, though, has home-field advantage. So, it’s an intriguing contest.
