Who is featured Beyoncé’s ‘COWBOY CARTER’ album?
Country music icon Dolly Parton appears on Beyoncé’s new “COWBOY CARTER” album, preluding a rendition of her famous hit “Jolene.”
Beyoncé is the latest artist to get into the liquor business. The music star recently launched a new whiskey inspired by her love of whiskey and a family legacy.
The new SirDavis line is being offered for sale online, but Iowa is one of 18 states left out of pre-sales.
What is Beyoncé’s SirDavis whiskey?
The new SirDavis whiskey was founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and crafted in partnership with Moët Hennessy and Dr. Bill Lumsden.
The alcohol marries rye and malted barley, according to its website, finished with sherry casks, spice and hints of fruit. Bottles are available online for $89.99 each.
SirDavis is named after her great-grandfather whose first name was Davis, and she seems to be honoring his legacy with the brand. Her son’s name is Sir, as well.
Why is Beyoncé’s SirDavis whiskey unavailable in Iowa?
Iowa law requires that liquor products be approved before being offered for sale in the state. The Iowa Department of Revenue is the sole wholesaler of liquor in the state. It sells liquors to licensed suppliers who can in turn provide liquors to bars and restaurants or sell directly to Iowans.
John Fuller, public information officer for the Iowa Department of Revenue, said the office always wants to give people the opportunity to sell their products in Iowa.
“All they have to do is contact the department and we’ll give them some information on how to get on that list,” Fuller said.” And then once they’re on that list, any supplier could order from them.”
Fuller said as far as he knows, SirDavis has not attempted to complete these steps. A full manual for suppliers and brokers of alcoholic liquor is available on the Department of Revenue’s website.
