Harris and Trump are expected to meet on stage Tuesday, Sept. 10, the same date Trump and President Joe Biden were expected to meet for their final debate. The debate will be at 9 p.m. ET.
While it is scheduled for next week, Trump cast doubt in late August about whether he would participate in the debate.
“Why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?” Trump asked in a Truth Social post. He criticized Jonathan Karl’s interview with Tom Cotton on ABC’s “This Week,” as well as the show’s panel of commentators.
Not long after that post, he stated he doesn’t care much about the microphone policy set forth for the debate.
Who is winning in the presidential race polls?
It has become a much different race than it was a couple of months ago when Biden was running against Trump.
The latest USA TODAY/Suffolk Poll, has Harris leading Trump 48%-43%, an edge within the poll’s margin of error. About 1 in 10 voters say they might change their mind or are undecided, according to reports from USA TODAY.
Democrats have gained traction after Biden stepped down from his campaign for reelection to make way for Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
The poll of 1,000 likely voters, taken by landline and cell phone, was taken between Aug. 25-28 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
