New Packers quarterback Malik Willis reflects on trade from Titans
After starting his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, quarterback Malik Willis is excited for a new start in Green Bay.
Chicago Bears fans are known for setting their expectations far too high and finishing the season in utter despair, but this year, they might actually have some reason to be excited. The second half of the 2023 season showed a team with massive potential. Now, they upgraded at wide receiver and potentially quarterback? Wow! If this team wasn’t in a division with the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, this team could maybe win 11 games.
The Bears’ opponents this week, the Tennessee Titans, are in a different boat. After a few years of dominance in the AFC South, they are now firmly at the bottom of the division, hoping that Will Levis can establish himself as a franchise quarterback even without Derrick Henry in the backfield. In Henry’s stead waits 2023 disappointment Tony Pollard and 2024 breakout candidate Tyjae Spears. If either player can reach the levels that fans know they are capable of, this team could wind up winning more games than expected, but still, most of the team’s success will live and die with Will Levis.

Lorenzo Reyes: Bears 27, Titans 18
The Caleb Williams era should start fairly well against a rebuilding Titans team. While Williams will almost certainly have learning moments, Chicago’s offensive roster is revamped and Tennessee will be introducing a rookie head coach in Brian Callahan. I like the Bears here quite comfortably.
Tyler Dragon: Bears 21, Titans 18
There’s plenty of excitement about the Bears this year. Does Chicago finally have a franchise quarterback in Caleb Williams? The rookie QB is surrounded by talented weapons on offense which should make his college-to-pro transition smoother. The Titans are beginning the post-Mike Vrabel-Derrick Henry era.
Safid Deen: Bears 26, Titans 20
The Caleb Williams era in Chicago begins with a close win over Tennessee. The Bears offense will find its footing against a tough defense, and earn an early lesson they’ll carry throughout the season.
Richard Morin: Bears 42, Titans 13
Caleb Williams makes a historic entrance to the NFL with a blowout win over a rebuilding Titans team. Things might not be so easy as the season soldiers on, but the Bears’ offense shows it’s for real and can easily dissect an unimpressive Tennessee secondary.
