Chappell Roan fans have been camping at Bonnaroo since 3:30 a.m.
Amid temperatures in the 90s, Chappell Roan fans started to line up early before her performance in one of Bonnaroo’s biggest stages Sunday, June 16, 2023
Pop star Chappell Roan is releasing a new batch of tickets for her October show in Franklin, Tennessee, after cancelling as many scalper-bought tickets as she could.
The “Pink Pony Club” and “HOT TO GO!” singer will hit the stage at FirstBank Ampitheater on Oct. 1 on her “Midwest Princess Tour.”
After a career boom, tickets for Roan’s shows have sold-out almost instantly with long waitlists, leaving eager fans fighting for tickets. Her Franklin, Tennessee, show was no exception.
Now, Roan is fighting back against ticket bots to try and ensure access to her show for Tennessee fans. Here’s how.
Chappell Roan fights back ticket bots: ‘I cannot wait to see people who deserve to be here’
On Wednesday morning, Roan posted a video on her Instagram story, explaining the situation to her Tennessee fans.
“Hello, Franklin, Tennessee,” Roan said. “My show at FirstBank Amphitheater on October 1 sold out really quickly, and we figured out why.
“Scalpers and bots just bought up all the tickets, so we went through and canceled all the scalper tickets we could,” she continued. “So from that, we’re going to release a limited number of tickets to you, because I want to make sure that tickets go to people who actually want to come and are fans.”
Roan said told fans to visit the website chappellroan.request.ticketmaster.com to request tickets. Fans have the opportunity to do so through the Ticketmaster website until Thursday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. CDT.
“To submit your request, you need to pick your preferred tickets and then put in a payment method,” Roan said, “which I know, it sounds so weird, this is the only way that we’re figuring out how to deal with it.”
Roan specified that fans will only be charged if their ticket request is fulfilled.
“This is the best solution that makes sense to me right now and my team, and I know it’s confusing and it’s so annoying, but I genuinely am so pissed about the scalper situation and think that people actually deserve to get to my show,” she said.
“This is a larger issue. We’re dealing with it, but thank you for understanding. And I cannot wait to see people who deserve to be here,” she said, blowing a kiss to the camera.
“It means everything to me, so thank you so much.”

How will Chappell Roan reallocate cancelled tickets?
Roan has said that tickets that were cancelled due to purchases through scalpers will be reallocated to real fans, but didn’t disclose how many new tickets are available.
At this time, the tickets on the new request form run from approximately $70 to $94, which is minuscule compared to the hundreds of dollars that scalpers were reselling Roan’s Franklin show tickets for on resale sites.
Other artists to take stands against ticket scalpers and worked to find creative solutions include Eric Church, Greta Van Fleet, Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Kid Rock, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sia and The Cure.
