COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — College football is back and after the first week of games, the Ohio State Buckeyes remain one of the top-ranked teams in the country.
The Buckeyes (1-0) kept their No. 2 spot in this week’s Associated Press poll after a whopping 52-6 win over Akron to begin the 2024 campaign. The Buckeyes remain only behind Georgia, who walloped Clemson 34-3 in an impressive opening win. Ohio State also kept its No. 2 spot in the USA Today coaches poll.

By far the most noticeable change is where Florida State sits after dropping its first two games of the season to Georgia Tech in Week 0 and Boston College on Monday night. The Seminoles started the season at No. 10 and now are unranked.
The team with the biggest jump was USC who went up 10 places to No. 13 after its upset, last-second win over LSU in Las Vegas on Sunday. Oregon, who was ranked No. 3, dropped four places to No. 7 after only beating Idaho 24-14 in Eugene. Notre Dame played its way into the top-five after its monumental win over Texas A&M at Kyle Field.
