An 8-7 win Friday at Gahanna Lincoln has vaulted Groveport to the top of the central Ohio high school football Top 10 poll.
The Cruisers were No. 7 last week, but USA Today Network voters decided that beating the Lions was worthy of the No. 1 ranking.
Gahanna is the two-time defending central Ohio poll champion. The Lions were ranked first every week of the 2023 regular season and the first two weeks this year.
Watterson, last year’s Division III state runner-up, has moved up one spot to No. 2.
In this week’s USA Today Network Ohio Super 25, Watterson and Groveport are the top-ranked teams from central Ohio. The Eagles are 11th, and the Cruisers are tied for 12th with Cincinnati Elder.
Our Top 10 ranks teams regardless of division. Each voter submits a Top 10 with a first-place vote worth 10 points, a second-place vote worth nine and so on down to one point for 10th.
