Looking to begin the 2024 season on the right foot, No. 25 Iowa hosts Illinois State at 11 a.m. Saturday inside Kinnick Stadium. Big Ten Network will televise the matchup.
Although a seemingly normal FBS vs. FCS matchup on the surface, Saturday brings plenty of abnormalities regarding the Iowa coaching staff. Assistant Seth Wallace will serve as the head coach for the suspended Kirk Ferentz, who’ll miss his first game since taking over the Hawkeyes due to a recruiting violation. The season opener also marks Tim Lester’s debut as offensive coordinator.
