Missouri’s first touchdown of 2024 was the result of a familiar connection: Brady Cook to Luther Burden III.
Nate Noel ran for a touchdown, and a Toriano Pride pick-six put the No. 11 Tigers ahead three scores in their opener against Murray State.
That’s a recap of the first 5 minutes, 19 seconds.
The Tigers had absolutely zero issue dispatching the Racers to start a highly anticipated season at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. In what turned into a 51-0 rout, the Tigers led 21-0 after six minutes, 28-0 after the first quarter and 35-0 at half.
Cook threw for 218 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score. Marcus Carroll and Jamal Roberts joined Cook and Noel with rushing scores. Burden made three catches for 39 yards. Mookie Cooper led the receivers with a 49-yard reception.
Noel led all rushers with 48 yards on the ground.
Backup quarterback transfer Drew Pyne went 10-for-11 passing for 82 yards after Cook exited the game with the Tigers well in control.
The Tigers (1-0) return to action on Saturday, Sept. 7, against Buffalo.
