A famed Kentucky distillery is preparing for an expansion.
Maker’s Mark Distillery in Marion County will undergo an $18.5 million “tourism development project,” according to the August agenda for the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority meeting.
The project will expand the Star Hill Farm experience through, “cocktail and culinary education, fine dining, tasting room, and a bourbon library.”
The project is expected to start construction soon and be completed in early 2026.
The state awarded the Maker’s Mark project roughly $3.4 million in incentives over 10 years. As part of these incentives, Maker’s Mark must keep the project, once completed, open to the public at least 100 days a year and is expected to attract 25% of total visitors from outside of Kentucky.
