WARWICK – USA Today, which is published by Gannett, owner of The Providence Journal and a nationwide chain of newspapers, has named Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport one of the 20 best small airports in the country and is asking readers to vote which is the top small airport.
Last year, Green finished seventh in USA Today’s travel awards. The paper then said that “loyal fans of T. F. Green Airport in Rhode Island love it as an alternative to Boston Logan International for its lack of crowds and quick access to Providence and Boston via a dedicated train station. It’s also an excellent option for travelers heading to Cape Cod.”

This year’s competition includes last year’s Top Four: Gerald R. Ford International Airport, in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Huntsville International Airport, in Huntsville, Alabama; Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, in Wichita, Kansas; and Myrtle Beach International Airport, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
This year’s voting is open and lasts until noon Monday, September 23.
