While Indiana residents love the Indianapolis Colts, they prefer to buy other team’s jerseys, a new study revealed.
According to research from FlashPicks, a betting picks, parlays, predictions and news brand, the 10 most popular NFL player jerseys in Indiana involved mostly players from teams outside the Hoosier state. FlashPicks analyzed Google Search volume data in each state for more than 350 of the most high-profile NFL players in 2024.
The only Colts player to make the list, quarterback Anthony Richardson, was sixth with 4,130 average searches. Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams ranked No. 1 with 7,000 searches. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (second), Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (third), Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (fourth) and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (fourth) were ahead of Richardson when it came to the most searched-for NFL jersey in Indiana.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (seventh), Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams (eighth), Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (ninth) and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (tenth) rounded out the list.
Callum Broxton, Head of Operations at FlashPicks commented on the research.
“Fans are always excited when new jerseys from their favorite teams are released, so ahead of the new season we wanted to see which players have the most sought-after uniform,” Broxton said. “It’s interesting to see that Indianapolis Colts players’ jerseys aren’t the most sought after in the team’s home state, and that big name players such as Travis Kelce and Jordan Love have a huge influence across the entire country, overtaking players even in their local areas.”
