WILLIAMSPORT — A man caught on video striking another one on the head eight times with a hammer has been acquitted of attempted criminal homicide but found guilty on other counts including aggravated assault.
A Lycoming County jury returned the verdict Monday evening in the case, which both assistant District Attorney Phoebe Yates and defense attorney Robert A. Hoffa agreed the surveillance video was their best evidence.
It showed the defendant Kareem Anthony Hutt, 44, of Philadelphia, about 5:35 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2021, running after and hitting Bernard Daniels after he fell on the sidewalk in the 700 block of West Fourth Street.
