DE PERE — Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance will arrive in De Pere to talk about the economy, inflation, and energy on Wednesday.
His visit will follow U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s visit to Green Bay on Tuesday as part of an economic tour for the Harris campaign, a one-two punch for the Green Bay area and a testament to the relevance economic issues have in America’s Dairyland this election cycle.
Wisconsin has become familiar to the vice-presidential nominee’s visits this election cycle, from Eau Claire at the beginning of the month on the tails of the Democratic presidential ticket’s visit to the city that same day in a venue just 11 minutes away, to Milwaukee just before the Democratic National Convention, to Kenosha last week.
Vance will begin his remarks at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the AmeriLux distribution service center in similar style to Donald Trump Jr.’s rally in October 2020 at the same venue.
He’s expected to push back on Harris’ economic agenda released last week that centers around the elevated cost of living for Americans with the campaign’s own policy stances on high grocery bills, mortgage payments, and inflation.
The AmeriLux venue has been a frequent destination for Republican personalities and surrogates historically. Its CEO, Kurt Voss, along with other local business leaders, urged civility in elections in July, one month after Donald Trump Jr. made his second visit to the facility to campaign for the Republican nominee in the 8th Congressional District race, Tony Wied.
