Last night SmackDown aired from Washington DC and had a fun filled episode which kept the fans captivated and stuck to the screen. Many developments were made in terms of storylines going into ‘Bash in Berlin’ as it was the penultimate episode of SmackDown, before the ‘Premium Live Event’. Along with it some high octane action-filled matches also took place and we are here to tell you all the results from the matches on the Blue Brand of WWE
1. LA Knight vs Santos Escobar(US Championship)
Santos Escobar qualified for a match with LA Knight for the United States Championship two weeks ago. Following that, the much anticipated match up happened between ‘The Megastar’ and Escobar on SmackDown. Before the start of the match Angel and Berto attacked LA Knight, during his introduction with Escobar standing at the ringside enjoying the beatdown. Despite that disadvantage at the start, LA Knight managed to hit the ‘BFD’ on Escobar to pin him and retain the Championship. The match was not lacklustre at all, but could have been better if booked well.
2. Naomi, Belair and Cargill vs Fyre, Dawn and Davenport
The trio of Fyre, Dawn and Davenport have been a hurdle on the way for Naomi Belair and Cargill and they got a chance to settle the scores last night at SmackDown. The heel faction was majorly in control throughout the match, before and after the break as they exchanged maneuvres against Belair and Cargill. Ultimately Naomi delivered a Split-legged MoonSault on Davenport to secure the victory for her team, after getting tagged in pretty late.
3. The Street Profits vs The Bloodline (Tag Team Championship on the line)
The duo of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins challenged Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu for the Tag Team Championship. But everyone was in for a surprise, as Solo Sikoa took the tag titles away from Jacob Fatu and gave it to Tanga Loa, so that the Samoan Werewolf could do the job of the enforcer for Sikoa more efficiently. This was the match of the night, since there were many up and down moments between the two teams. But as we know when you are facing any member of the Bloodline, the whole Bloodline gets engaged in the contest and ultimately it gets a little bit too much to topple. Therefore, with the help of Solo’s interference, the new recruits of the Bloodline- Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa managed to retain their titles at the end.
4. A Town Down Under vs Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens
The main event of Smackdown was a match between the A Town Down Under(Grayson Waller and Austin theory), against good buddies Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. First Waller took on the American Nightmare but Kevin Owens was tagged in within no time to take control. Throughout the match, the baby face duo had things under their control, especially until the commercial break. It was only after the break that it became a competitive contest, as all the four superstars involved had their share of good moments. It was speculated that Owens might turn on Cody as Owen’s history suggests about him, but it wasn’t to be as the duo easily came up trumps against the Heel tag team, without any fuss.
