Nevada Humane Society, Carson City branch pet of the week is Canela, a joyful four-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who has a smile that will light up any room.
Canela came to us as an owner surrender, and after spending a few months with her, we’ve truly come to understand the difficulty of letting such a sweet companion go. As much as we love Canela, we know her future family will love her even more!
Canela loves to be around the people she adores most and is playful and excited when it comes to any activity in the yard, making her the best partner for any adventure.

“Hi, I’m Canela, a happy pup looking for my furrever family. I’m housetrained and eager to learn new things! I love car rides and chasing tennis balls, but I’m at my happiest when I’m with my favorite person, sharing joyful moments. I’m looking for a loving home where I can be the only dog and truly shine. With a little patience and plenty of love, I promise to be a loyal companion who will brighten your days!”
Canela is residing at our Carson City campus located at 549 Airport Road in Carson City. We’re open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come meet her today! Her adoption fee is only $75, and she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and SO ready to go home.
