The Bayou State is the latest home for Fanatics Sportsbook, which opened up shop in its 22nd state on Thursday.
Fanatics announced its launch in Louisiana in partnership with Boomtown Casino and Hotel, making the book accessible to Louisiana residents and tourists on iOS and Android devices.
Since legalization in mid-2021, the growth of sports betting in Louisiana has been exponential. Ten books are now in operation, with four new books added in the last calendar year alone.
Among the book’s most prominent features, Fanatics will implement its recently revamped FanCash feature, which allows fans to earn jerseys, bonus bets, and other perks. Additionally, the book will feature a “robust parlay offering,” according to a release, with “Pre-Game and In-Game Same Game Parlay markets, the ability to stack your Same Game Parlays and pre-built Same Game Parlays to save time.”
Fanatics continues expansion
Fanatics has had quite a busy past several months as it continues to carve out a place in an increasingly crowded market. Since April, Fanatics has launched online sports betting in Arizona, New Jersey, and Wyoming, along with a retail sportsbook location in Bridgeport, Connecticut in March.
Fanatics also acquired PointsBet this year, further strengthening its market share in states such as Illinois and Kansas.
“The acquisition of the U.S. businesses of PointsBet has supercharged our expansion plans,” Fanatics CEO Matt King said in April. “In addition to our migration of PointsBet customers and technology to the Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino platform, we have also added an incredibly talented team of passionate leaders from the ranks of PointsBet USA that have already made an impact on our business.”
Sports betting isn’t the only place where Fanatics has made significant inroads in 2024.
Fanatics’ apparel brand is set to begin its first season as the official partner of the NHL’s on-ice jerseys. According to some early reports, the jerseys will be manufactured at the same Montreal factory that had previously manufactured the NHL’s gameday gear during its partnership with Adidas.
