Dake is another Penn State connection wrestling for a medal in the 74-kilogram weight class, joining 86-kilogram bronze medalist Aaron Brooks. Seeded No. 1 at the weight, Dake was upset by No. 4 Daichi Takatani, 20-12, in the semifinals to bring a disappointing end to his hopeful gold medal run.
Dake was a four-time NCAA champion at Cornell who announced his move to Penn State’s Nittany Lion Wrestling Club in September 2022 after winning the fourth of his four world championships.
