Recent Maple Hill graduate, Kate Ackerman, has been named USA Today’s National Female Bowler of the Year. Ackerman won the New York state girls’ bowling championship just days after the sudden passing of her older brother Kevin.
Ackerman was awarded the John Drexel Memorial Scholarship for outstanding bowlers in the Capital District. And she is one of the ten Capital District Female Athletes of the Year. Ackerman will continue to bowl at Niagara University this fall.
