The United States is knocking on the door of an Olympics medal and a berth in the finals for the first time since 2008 in Beijing, but faces a tough test in Serbia. The two-time defending Olympics champions have four medals in four appearances at the Olympics, but they also have three losses in the ’24 Games, including an 8-3 loss to Australia in their second Group B contest.
Team USA reached this point with an 11-10 victory over Australia in the quarterfinals, which the Americans finished by winning a penalty shootout by a 4-3 final. Hannes Daub and Alex Bowen both scored a pair of goals in the win.
