Gabe Jeudy-Lally is looking to make his mark once again in the state of Tennessee playing football – but this time in a Titans uniform.
The 6-foot-1, 189-pound cornerback spent three years of college playing at Vanderbilt and a final season at Tennessee. In between Vanderbilt and Tennessee, Jeudy-Lally spent a year at BYU.
Jeudy-Lally, who was signed by the Titans as an undrafted free agent in March, is still carrying lessons learned from his previous stops in the state.
“(Playing at Tennessee and Vanderbilt) helped me adapt to change. It doesn’t matter where I am and where I’m going to be. I just have to put my feet in that spot and be able to put myself in the right position to be able to make plays and also adapt to the team and the culture,” Jeudy-Lally told the Tennessean. “So being in those places allowed me to come here and adapt to the culture and become part of the team.”
Jeudy-Lally started 34 games for the Commodores, accumulating 151 total tackles, 17 pass deflections, one interception and a forced fumble.
After the one season at BYU, Jeudy-Lally returned to the SEC to spend his graduate year at Tennessee, where he amassed 41 total tackles, six pass deflections, a forced fumble and an interception.
Though Jeudy-Lally won’t have it easy to earn a roster spot or stick around as a practice squad player, the rookie has impressed the coaching staff, even earning himself a few opportunities to line up with the defensive starters.
“Every single play that I’m out there, it’s an opportunity to get better and also prove to the coaches that I’m supposed to be out there,” Jeudy-Lally said. “Every time I get a rep, I think that I’m going against a hall of famer, regardless of who it is, because then it gives me the opportunity to set myself up to make plays every single day.”
SECONDARY A FIRST: The Tennessee Titans have a top-3 NFL secondary after Quandre Diggs signing. Now what?
Jeudy-Lally said he’s mostly able to keep his focus solely on the field, already having a good sense of what it’s like to be part of Nashville.
“Being (in Tennessee) the last five years of my life, it has definitely become a second home for me. So being able to land here has been a really good opportunity because I get to just focus on playing football because I’m familiar with the whole state,” Jeudy-Lally said. “Texas was my first home but this place definitely has a special place in my heart, so it’s just a blessing to be here and be able to play for this team.”
