Donald Trump did it again.
Late Monday, less than 12 hours before polls opened in Missouri, the former president announced his pick in the Republican primary for lieutenant governor.
The Post-Dispatch and the League of Women Voters of Metro St. Louis present this guide to the candidates, races and issues on the Aug. 6 ballot.
And again, he endorsed more than one candidate.
“Two Highly Respected America First Patriots, Holly Rehder and David Wasinger, are running for Lieutenant Governor of Missouri, a State that I love, and WON BIG in 2016 and 2020.”
“Either one would be an incredible Lieutenant Governor,” Trump said on Truth Social, his social media site. “They are MAGA all the way!”
This is at least the third time this year that Trump made multiple endorsements in the Missouri GOP primary.
On July 27, he gave his thumbs-up to Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe, Sen. Bill Eigel and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft in the governor’s race.

Three days later, he endorsed incumbent Andrew Bailey and challenger Will Scharf in the attorney general’s race.
Both Rehder and Wasinger quickly issued statements touting Trump’s endorsement without acknowledging he’s also backed another candidate in the same race.
“President Trump knows HOLLY is a MAGA warrior,” Rehder’s campaign posted on X.

Other Republican candidates for lieutenant governor on Tuesday’s ballot are Sen. Lincoln Hough, Paul Berry III, Tim Baker and Matthew E. Porter.
Hough, a veteran Springfield area lawmaker who touts endorsements from police, firefighter and farm groups, among others, is considered among the front-runners in the race.
Two years ago, Trump endorsed “Eric” in the GOP contest for U.S. Senator, which included Eric Schmitt, then the state’s attorney general, and Eric Greitens, Missouri’s disgraced former governor. Schmitt went on to win.
