Video: Dunkin’ and Jelly Roll are National Donut Day’s perfect match
Ahead of National Donut Day on Friday, June 7, country music star Jelly Roll talks about donuts and his affinity for Dunkin’.
What says Massachusetts more than our love of Dunkin? Miss Massachusetts played into that lore at this year’s Miss USA pageant.
On Sunday, Miss Massachusetts 2024 Melissa Sapini competed in the Miss USA pageant, placing in the top 10. During the competition, Sapini wore a Dunkin-inspired costume to represent her state.
The outfit was a play on the DunKings tracksuits that went viral earlier this year. Instead of a tracksuit, Sapini went with a pink and orange bodysuit. Attached to the back of the suit was a giant donut declaring her a “DunkQueen.”
Behind Miss Massachusetts’ Dunkin-themed costume
Choosing a state-inspired costume for the Miss USA pageant seemed like an easy choice for Miss Massachusetts Melissa Sapini, who is also a summer intern at Dunkin.
Sapini helped create the costume with support from Dunkin, drawing inspiration from the “DunKings” tracksuits used in a Super Bowl ad earlier this year.
“Every Miss USA contestant needs a show-stopping, state-inspired costume, and Miss Massachusetts had the perfect ensemble, embodying Dunkin’s rich Massachusetts heritage,” the company said in a release.
Who is Miss Massachusetts 2024?
Melissa Sapini, a 20-year-old from North Attleboro, was named Miss Massachusetts USA 2024 in March.
According to her Miss Massachusetts bio, she is a journalism student at Suffolk University and reporter for the New England Sports Network show “Dirty Water.”
At the Miss USA competition on Sunday, Sapini placed in the top 10 finalists.
