FORT WORTH, Texas (WATE) — With Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello serving as an analyst for MLB Network’s coverage of the 2024 Draft, he had a front-row seat to watch multiple Vols realize their dreams.
As the No. 8 overall pick to the Los Angeles Angels, Christian Moore headlined the group of four Vols selected in rounds one and two of the MLB draft. He’s the highest-drafted Vol since 2016, and the highest pick of the Tony Vitello era.

Two more Volunteers heard their name called in quick succession later in the night. Third baseman Billy Amick landed as the No. 60 overall pick to the Minnesota Twins with the Texas Rangers selecting outfielder Dylan Dreiling five picks later.
Day Two of the MLB Draft gets underway on Monday at 2 p.m. and will feature rounds three to ten.
