DENVER (KDVR) — A new study revealed the cities with the highest and lowest qualities of life in the country, and some Colorado cities rank on both ends of the spectrum.
Lawn Starter ranked the biggest cities in America for their quality of life based on 16 factors, some of which include the environment, air and water quality, health care access, physical and mental health, family and food security, safety and education.

These statistics were taken from mostly government websites like the U.S. Census Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. Department of Transportation, among others.
Those factors were then weighed and included in each city’s overall score.
Colorado cities with the best, worst quality of life
Here is where the largest cities in Colorado rank among the quality of life in the top 500 biggest cities in the U.S.

Overall, Castle Rock ranked as the city with the best quality of life in Colorado as well as one of the top cities in the nation. Castle Rock ranked particularly high in housing and infrastructure, economic stability and health care access.
The city lies among Redmond, Washington and Newton Massachusetts as the cities with the best quality of life in the country.

Out of the 500 largest cities, Centennial, Broomfield and Boulder ranked high as well in the top 50. Centennial ranks the best in the country for air and water quality.
Meanwhile, Greeley, Thornton and Pueblo had the lowest qualities of life in Colorado, with Pueblo having some of the lowest mental and physical health in the nation along with some of the worst economic stability.
While these cities ranked the lowest in the state, compared to the rest of the largest cities in the country, none of the Colorado cities ranked in the lowest 100 cities.
