Texas A&M baseball under Michael Earley is quickly showing that they are a force to be reckoned with. The Aggies have been cleaning up in the portal so far, nabbing guys like Gavin Kash and Wyatt Henseler to bolster an already-intimidating lineup.
After Jim Schlossnagle left the Aggies for Texas, it seemed like A&M might be dead in the water. Earley has made sure that hasn’t happened. The momentum this program has after seeming completely gutted only weeks ago is really something to behold.
That momentum continued tonight—at the expense of the Aggies’ former coach and current rival. Texas A&M baseball picked up a commitment from RHP Gavin Lyons, a prospect formerly committed to play in Austin before requesting a release from his National Letter of Intent.
Texas A&M baseball has added to their 2024 signing class as RHP Gavin Lyons has committed to the Aggies while on campus for a visit. Huge upside here that could impact next year’s pitching staff because of his unique delivery and arm talent.

This is not only yet another baseball player named Gavin to add to the Aggies’ arsenal, but, as Brauninger says, he could impact the lineup in year one. This is great news, as the Aggies are searching for some quality players on the mound to replace guys like Ryan Prager and Chris Cortez (who was selected tonight by the Los Angeles Angels.
I could see Lyons sliding right in with some of the best relievers that the Aggies have. Justin Lamkin, Tanner Jones, Josh Stewart, and others may be ahead when it comes to who will be a weekend starter, but Lyons could make an impact in other ways.
Big-time addition for @earleybaseball and the Aggies as they flip pitcher @GavinLyons_32 from Texas. The type of pitcher who could very well make a year one impact in College Station.

This is yet another massive pickup for Earley and company. If this momentum keeps rolling, it will be hard to keep the Aggies out of the College World Series next year.
