Where are the best hot springs in California?
Although Northern California has a number of hot springs less than a four-hour drive from downtown Sacramento, you’ll need to head to Southern California to find the best hot springs in the state, according to USA Today.
Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Temescal Valley was No. 4 on the publication’s list, thanks to its plethora of wellness treatments.
“Cover yourself in detoxifying red clay at Club Mud, moisturize skin with a steam in The Grotto and sample an array of different soaking areas tucked amid lush landscaping,” USA Today said, “including toasty mineral baths, hot and cold plunge pools, a lap pool and a social lounge pool.”
On the Central Coast, Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa in Avila Beach landed at No. 6 on USA Today’s list.
The publication praised the San Luis Obispo County resort’s “intimate, open-air hillside hot tubs,” which can be rented by the hour, as well as the larger Oasis Waterfall Lagoon.
Coming in at No. 9, The Spa at Séc-he in Palm Springs boasts 22 private indoor mineral baths.
Other amenities include aromatherapy showers, a eucalyptus steam room and a 17,000-square-foot pool deck area featuring an outdoor swimming pool with a waterfall plus a mineral pool for water yoga.
