GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – U.S. Border Patrol says agents stopped three separate illegal entries since July 1, two of which involved attempts to smuggle people into the U.S. from Canada.
On July 1, agents detected a man walking toward the border near Lake Metigoshe. The Border Patrol obtained a description of a vehicle associated with the man from a nearby security camera and agents stopped the vehicle north of Minot. Five people were arrested.
On July 4, a vehicle crossing the border was located in Ward County. Six people suspected of illegal entry were taken to the Portal Station for processing.
On July 8, agents stopped a vehicle near Bottineau and arrested five people.
Federal charges including illegal entry and smuggling-related offenses are pending.
The suspects are American, Mexican, Polish, and Canadian nationals, and consist of 11 men and 5 women. Their ages ranging from 21-67.
