Never at a loss for words, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders said during Big 12 Media Days that he feels he is judged differently than the other coaches in the conference.
“I’m judged on a different scale. My wins are totally different than your wins,” he said.
Sanders didn’t go into details about what he meant by that statement.
Sanders has received a boatload of criticism from fans, TV analysts, and even other coaches who don’t like the way he runs his program or talks about players and opponents.
But if you expect Sanders to change anytime soon, he won’t. He says he is not going to conform to anyone else’s style.
“Why would be trying to fit into anything?” he asked rhetorically. “I ain’t never tried to fit into nothing… We don’t fit in, man. We fit out.”
We will see if Sanders’ style will bring him success on the field this season. Last year, the Buffs got off to a 4-0 start and briefly became college football darlings. However, a beatdown by the Oregon Ducks brought Sanders and the program back down to earth and they lost the rest of their games that season.
