There are many changes happening in the world every single day, but one constant is Georgia football players getting arrested for reckless driving. On Thursday morning, several sources announced that two more Bulldogs were arrested this week on separate misdemeanor charges of reckless driving.

Starting linebacker Smael Mondon and offensive tackle Bo Hughley were the two players charged with reckless driving, and they aren’t the first players in the program to be arrested for this.
In January 2023, Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy were both killed in a heartbreaking racing-related accident, which then started an unfortunate trend among players.
An article from Fox 5 released a list of every Bulldog arrested on some driving charge in the past year and a half, and it’s alarming.

Nine players have been arrested for some driving incident since early 2023, and nobody on the team wants to change their ways or do anything about it.
Now, the head coach, Kirby Smart, is in trouble because his players are getting in trouble. Still, these players don’t seem to understand that they are not above the law just because they play football at Georgia and have won several national championships.
The only way to get the players to understand that what they are doing is awful is for the school to suspend their head coach, Kirby Smart, for the first couple of games of the season. This would send the players a message that their actions will also start to affect other people in the program.Georgia coach Kirby Smart looks on during the first half of the SEC Championship game against Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023.
Georgia opens the season against Clemson, and trust me if Smart is not on the sidelines because of his player’s actions, maybe the players will think twice before they start doing something that could get them in trouble with the law again.
