We’re less than 60 days away from FSU football taking the field for the first time in 2024 when they travel to Dublin, Ireland, to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. It has been a long offseason, and fans are tired of talking about the same stuff on social media with rival fans. Media talking heads are starting to talk in circles as they look for new material to pass the time, and the EA Sports football game has been a popular subject. I think the offense and defensive rankings for FSU in that game are poor compared to other teams that haven’t been as near as good (Colorado) over the last two years.
Recently, I heard long-time FSU podcaster Bud Elliot give his opinion on those ratings, and he said it should be the goal of FSU to have a top-25 offense in 2024. He doesn’t necessarily say he doesn’t think they will, but insinuates there will be a large drop-off from last year’s offense. While it’s true, FSU lost some major talent to the NFL Draft: Jordan Travis, Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, Trey Benson, and Jaheim Bell. I don’t think the drop-off will be anywhere near that, and in fact, believe this offense could be better than last year’s offense. Here are five reasons that will be the case, but first let’s glance at last year’s offense numbers.
