The New York Giants might move some players before the start of the 2024 season. What Giants fans are excited about this week is the start of Hard Knocks, the offseason edition on Tuesday night. New York made more changes to the roster this offseason.
They are trying to build this team through the NFL Draft. One of the things the New York Giants did not do well before Joe Schoen became the general manager was finding talent in the NFL Draft.Right, Steve Smith, a former pro bowl NFL wide receiver, works with wide receivers Jalin Hyatt and Malik Nabers. The NY Giants NFL team held an organized team activity at their training facility in East Rutherford, NJ on Thursday May 30, 2024.
A season ago, they finished with a 6-11 record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. We will see if things will change this season for the New York Giants.

Training camp starts in a couple of weeks for the Giants. At the moment, Darius Slayton is listed with the first unit at the wide receiver position. The other starters will be Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson.
Slayton is entering the final year of his contract. At one point this offseason, Darius Slayton held out of offseason activities, but there won’t be any issues with him not showing up for training camp.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report thinks that the New York Giants could trade wide receiver Darius Slayton before the start of training camp. Knox said:
“Business is business, and if New York starts chasing cap dollars, moving Slayton could be good for business. Doing so would save $3.4 million in 2024 cap space.
With Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Isaiah McKenzie, Allen Robinson II, Isaiah Hodgins and Jalin Hyatt in the fold, New York could field a functional receiving corps without Slayton.”
Hyatt would move up to the first unit if the Giants traded Slayton. A season ago, Darius Slayton caught 50 passes for 770 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He averaged 15.4 yards per catch and was targeted 79 times.Dec 31, 2023; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (86) celebrates with quarterback Tyrod Taylor (2) and wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson (17) after his touchdown reception during the second half against the Los Angeles Rams at MetLife Stadium. A receiving core of Jalin Hyatt, Malik Nabers, and Wan’Dale Robinson would be a very explosive one for quarterback Daniel Jones. Allen Robinson may not be even in the Giants rotation this season. Even if the New York Giants do not trade Darius Slayton before training camp, there is a chance he could traded before the NFL trade deadline.
