One of the biggest things that got new Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley’s foot in the door in this nationwide search for a new A&M skipper was the established relationship he had with the players. As a top recruiter for the previous staff and a generally beloved figure on the team, he was a popular choice among the current roster for who should guide the Ags into the future.
Accordingly, as soon as the hire was announced, reports began to emerge that the Aggie players currently in the portal would be exiting and returning to College Station for next year. Ali Camarillo was the first to do so.
Texas A&M shortstop Ali Camarillo has withdrawn from the transfer portal, @On3sports has learned.
He batted .288 for the Aggies, tallying seven home runs and 36 RBIs. Touts a .961 fielding percentage.

It looks as if at least one of them has been successful, as Hayden Schott has referenced returning to Aggieland for the upcoming year after withdrawing his name from the portal as well.

Ace pitcher Ryan Prager, reportedly still mulling a decision between returning to Aggieland and making the jump to the professional level, was effusive in his praise as well.
So excited for @AggieBaseball under @earleybaseball. Elite coach, elite human, all around the right man at the helm. Gig’em https://t.co/sR7obZNcBo

Brock Peery, who came over from Arizona State (where Earley was previously), had some great things to say about his coach.
I owe a lot of my college career to this guy. He believed in me and helped me get to Arizona State, and did a lot to help get me to College Station too. There is no doubt Mike is the right guy. https://t.co/I2JUBwlgCZ

We’re still waiting on reactions from stud players Gavin Grahovac and Jace LaViolette, but suffice it to say that this is a move that is already proving to unite the roster like few others would have.
