MARSHALL – Hey Taylor Swift fans that couldn’t snag tickets to the Eras Tour, a tribute performance is heading to The Franke Center.
Kanin Wren will perform her live Taylor Swift Experience Oct. 19.
“A few years ago, a consultant proposed the idea of forming a Taylor Swift Tribute Band, noting the resemblance between myself and a young Taylor Swift. Despite being a fan of Taylor Swift, I initially hesitated to pursue the idea, recognizing the high expectations of Taylor’s devoted fan base,” Wren said in an email to the Enquirer. “However, drawing on my experience as a performer since a young age, I decided to reach out to some existing clients for feedback. Encouraged by their positive responses, I ultimately secured bookings for a three-state tour last year, which has since expanded to fifteen states this year.”
The concert will take place on The Franke Center mainstage at 8 p.m. Audience members can meet up in The Franke’s Downstage Club starting at 7 p.m. for a friendship bracelet exchange pre-party. Attendees are encouraged to make their own bracelets to exchange before the event. VIP experiences are also available for super fans which will include a three song private set, photo opportunity, signed poster, and question and answer session.
“We know there are a lot of Swifties out there looking for the chance to get together and celebrate Taylor’s music,” said Jacob Gates, The Franke Center’s executive director. “When we learned about Kanin Wren’s show, we knew we had to make it happen. It’s going to be a great night of music!”
Tickets are available on The Franke Center’s website, TheFranke.org, or by calling their box office at (269) 781-0001.
“It has been a rewarding experience to provide a family-friendly alternative for Taylor Swift fans who may not have the means to attend the Eras Tour or secure tickets,” Wren said. “The opportunity to bring joy to others through this experience is truly fulfilling. I hope that the children leave feeling inspired and filled with happiness.”
The Franke Center for the Arts programming is supported in part by funding from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Franke Center is located at 214 E. Mansion St. Marshall.
