Chicago chophouse Asador Bastian was among 50 restaurants to be named in the New York Times’ 2024 list of America’s Best Restaurants.
Situated at 214 W. Erie St. in Chicago, the restaurant was the only Illinois establishment featured. No restaurants from the neighboring states of Indiana, Iowa or Missouri were named in the recent list.
According to its website, the establishment draws “culinary inspiration from the great asadors of San Sebastián, Spain to serve the world’s best boutique beef without compromise.” The restaurant’s dinner menu features multiple steak options – which vary in price from $69 total to $105 per pound.
This is not the first time the Chicago establishment has received such a recognition. In 2023, Asador Bastian was included in Esquire’s list of the Best New Restaurants in America.
Earlier this year, Peoria restaurant Ardor Breads and Provisions was listed among USA TODAY’s Restaurants of the Year.
