Hurricane Helene livestream. Watch as storm hits in Florida

Hurricane Helene is expected to make landfall in Florida on Thursday and bring with it catastrophic winds and enough rain for a mass of flood warnings to be issued across the Southeast.

The latest predictions have Helene making landfall near the Big Bend area of Florida as at least a Category 3 hurricane. As it moves inland, Helene is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 6 to 12 inches over a wide swath of the Southeast with some isolated rain totals potentially reaching 18 inches. Jack Beven, a National Hurricane Center senior hurricane specialist, said those rains will result in “potentially life threatening” flooding.
